Jayhawk's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Out of 64 teams the Kansas Jayhawks and Kentucky Wildcats are the only two teams left standing. I am hoping very much that Kansas can pull through Kentucky's versatile defense. But unlike other teams Kansas's point guard is a freak and knows how to play when the rest of the team needs him most.
This isnt the game that I wanted to see in the championship but it will defiantley be one to watch. Its all going to come down to a buzzer beater in this one.

Final Four

Due to my team being upset in the first round of March madness I will be finishing my blog on the trail from the final four to the national championship game of the NCAA division 1 mens basketball tournament. The final four teams are no suprise or cinderella stories unforunatley, they are all powerhouse teams that have a history of making it to the final four. There is Kentucky, Kansas, Ohio State and Louisville and im rooting for Louisville to take it all becaus they are the under dogs and I enjoy watching Louisville in both basketball and football.

Most people are expecting Kentucky to cut down the nets in New Orleans but I think this infamous tournament is about due for an upset.

March Madness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well the regular season is over and all the big boys are showin up in four different locations to play in the biggest most watched tournament in the world. I have done my predictions and unfortunatley I dont have my Blue Devils up to win it, although they have a pretty good chance.
Personally I think that the Florida State Seminoles will win, they have proven to be one of the most consistent teams in the NCAA and on top of that they have almost beat all the number one seeds that are in the tourney. But with my fingers crossed im hoping that Duke will come out with a win over Florida State in the championship.

All good things come to an end

Unfortunatley the Blue Devils lost to the Tar Heels the second time they played this weekend. I cant even tell you what they could have done to make it not such a blow out, they were getting open and executing plays. Its just simple, the shots werent falling in.
Duke will be playing in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament next, they should have a pretty good chance at winning it if they can play like they ususally do.

Climbing the rankings

Duke once again has proved the press wrong, they managed to hold of the Virginia Tech Hokies in overtime to beat them and move up one spot in the Ap and Usa today rankings. Duke will win when bet against it seems like, all five commentators put the Hokies to win and Duke came out victorious.
Duke is once again starting to become a threat because they have only lost two games and one was to the Hokies and there next game is against the Florida State Seminoles who was there second loss. March madness is right around the corner and the Blue Devils are coming in  hot.

It all comes down to this

The Blue Devils are on cloud 9 after beating the Boston College Eagles to put them back on top of the ACC with North Carolina and Florida State. Although this win streak isnt enough for them to have much breathing room, they only have 5 regular season games left and two of the 5 are the Tar Heels and the Seminoles.
Duke has all pistons going at this point in the season which is a good thing but also a bad thing, the good news is they will blow through these next 5 games with 5 wins and go into march madness with alot of confidence. Unfortunatley though for the past couple years Duke has a cake walk through the first couple rounds and has got shut out by a team that wasnt even seeded. My predictions, I cant really tell you anything forshore but I do know that I havent seen Duke at a stride like this in a long time.

Raining 3's

The biggest rivalry in all sports took place in Chapel Hill North Carolina last week with the #9 ranked Blue Devils playing the #5 ranked Tar Heels. Every professional predicted North Carolina to win, fortunatley freshman Austin Rivers threw it up from 7 feet off the 3 point line with 1 second left and drained it to upset North Carolina by one point.
It was quite a cinderella story for Rivers that night considering he never stepped foot on the court against the Tar Heels, scoring a career high of 29 points, not to mention 24 of them were 3 pointers and making the game winning shot in the biggest rivalry in all of sports. I will be excited to see what Coach K can turn this kid into.

Got some work to do

The Devils were previously upset by the Miami Hurricanes in this weekends game, which will be no help at all getting a better seat in the Top 25 polls. Coack K of the Blue Devils stated, " Its not that we played bad, its that the other team played better because they wanted it more." From what I have read and my little knowledge of basketball I think that the Blue Devils need to work on executing at the end of games better.

Every game Duke has lost, the opposing team has made a rough estimate of about 15-20 points in the last 5 minutes. In two day Duke travels to North Carolina to play the #3 ranked Tar Heels. Duke is in a bit of a drag at the moment but can hopefully get things figured out before the big rivalry game this week.

Scraping by isnt enough

Duke advances to 18-3 after a non conference win yesterday, although Coach K is not impressed with Dukes performance at all. The coach told the press that "We did enough to win, which makes me sick to say that, that is not who I am or what this program is." Next week the Blue Devils will travel to Miami for a non conference game against the hurricane.

So close but yet so far away

Duke was only one win away from breaking the most wins at home record but unfortunatley lost to Florida State 76-73. This was there first loss at home since Febuary 11th of 2009 although the record they were trying to beat is also held by a previous Duke basketball team.

About to break some records

Since my last post the Duke Blue Devils mens basketball team has won two games and is only a couple games away from breaking the record of most consecutive wins in a row at home games. There played the Virginia Cavilers on January 12th at home and came out victorious 61-58. Duke was losing in the first half because the Cavilers were just beating them offensively, after half time Dukes defense was unstoppable for the 3rd quarter then started to slow down giving Virginia a chance to catch up but Plumlee stopped two game saving shots to end it without going into overtime. Four days later the played the Clemson Tigers and was alos victorious with a 73-66 win and Dawkins for the Devils swept Clemson with individual stats of 24 points in 27 minutes.

Duke Blue Devils

I will be starting a weekly blog on the Duke Blue Devils Mens Basket Ball Team. I chose Duke because I have I started filling out the march madness brackets around my sophomore year and always favored Duke to win. Im always watching espn so I will be able to keep up on the Blue Devils. As of know the Blue Devils are ranked 5th in the nation with a recored of 13-2. There losses were to the Temple Owls and Ohio State Buckeyes, although after losing to two ranked teams in the nation they held off the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets for a big win. There next game is this thursday against the Virginia Cavilers in Virginia. My prediction is they will beat Virgina by a six or seven point spread.
